Life is a never-ending journey

It pays a lot to visit an internationally known attraction outside the high-season. You are free of all the chaos and stress that come along with the gross flux also known as mass tourism. There is this tendency to go with the flow when surrounded by an angry majority of people, desperately looking to be impressed by something they are not willing to appreciate. Walking down the small, narrow streets is definitely more fun and interesting, even romantic when not pushed by someone else. One can also see the difference in the way locals seem more relaxed and somewhat happier that they can finally have some peace and quiet, not having to deal with funny tourists with funny accents that get lost in the narrow streets.  We ate traditionally, slept in a very comfortable apartment, located on a small, very hard to find street, enjoyed a tiny piece of what this wonderful area has to offer and all of this in February, yes February. Timpul petrecut pe insula sarzilor a fost echilibrat impartit intre vizite prin orase precum Alghero, Bosa sau Argentiera si hoinarit fara directie spre o destinatie necunoscuta. Daca interiorul insulei este dominat de intinse plantatii de maslini si ondulari duioase ale reliefului, coasta, cel putin cea vestica, ofera privelisti spectaculoase, veritabile sculpturi ale celui mai priceput artist, natura.

Orasul Alghero se afla in proximitatea unuia din cele mai interesante din punct de vedere geologic si spectaculoase din punct de vedere peisagistic, obiective din Sardinia. La doar 21 km NV de oras, sade casa lui Neptun sau generic, Grota lui Neptun. Grota calcaroasa este situata exact sub Capo Caccia si gazduieste formatiuni stalactitice si stalagmitice dintre cele mai impresionante. Pe langa turismul clasic, grota este o locatie excelenta pentru amatorii de scufundari si de ce nu, exteriorul stancos poate fi o destinatie pentru cei suficient de nebuni sa plonjeze in mare de la inaltimi de 150-200 m. Interiorul grotei sta marturie a milioane de ani (cca. 75 de milioane) in care apa marina a precipitat continuu pentru a da nastere coloanelor, stilolitelor si draperiilor ce pot atinge inaltimi de peste 10 m.
